In lesson 1 we cover what you can expect in this course, my journey to the light, and guidance on where you can start with your journey to the light. A huge part of The Magic of Your Light journey is the Daily Self-Care Practice, which is explained in this lesson as well.
Intention: Make a commitment to yourself to grow in your relationship with yourself by doing self care every day. For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
The intention I want you to create here is a commitment to yourself. Start with taking a bit of time right now to commit to yourself by saying, I will make time for you every day from now on. Also, what will strengthen that, is making a commitment to yourself every single day. There are many different ways in which you can do this. You can have a routine while you're brushing your teeth, for example, and look at yourself in the mirror, and talk to yourself. Tell yourself that you are on the journey to self healing, self love. You can use whichever words resonate with you, but just make a daily commitment to yourself. My number one tip is to make it part of your morning routine. This way, when you get to the end of the week, you would have had a daily self-care practice every day. Whether this is five minutes, ten minutes, half an hour, an hour. It is completely and entirely up to you.
Intention: Make a date with yourself, by creating a daily self care practice routine and sacred space for yourself that works in your current life. For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
The intention here is to make time and space for yourself. The ideal situation would be to have a special space somewhere in your house or your garden, where you can sit undisturbed, in privacy and nobody will bother you. It's calm, it's peaceful and it is a place where you can focus and not to get distracted. That is the winner. Take and look at all the challenges you face when you try to make time and space for yourself and then come up with solutions or alternatives in which you can overcome these challenges. Follow your heart and your inner wisdom here and trust yourself. If you are able to create a special space for yourself within your home, think about how you can make this a sacred space for yourself. Whether that's a crystal an incense holder, a special pillow, make it something that resonates with you and feeds your soul. Here are a few suggestions for some of the possible challenges: Making time and space for yourself by having an appointment is one way in which you can do this. I already gave you this example in the previous topic: your journey to the light. I made a commitment to go to yoga regularly, creating time and space for myself, because I'm paying for the service. However, this is not something that's possible or resonates with everybody. Another suggestion, and this follows from committing to yourself, is to have a practice of movement. For example, walking in your neighborhood, walking at the beach, walking in the forest, whatever is accessible to you and possible for you that you can safely do that you find meditative and calming and gives you time and space for your reflection. Another option if you are in a busy household or perhaps live in a noisy city, or your situation is such that you do not have much control of your environment. Then really, this is the best time to practice setting boundaries. Because what is also possible is to take a nice long bath and lock the door, and do your meditation time there. I have done this many times, and I still do. Another option is to sit on your bed with earphones, your eyes closed, maybe even something over your eyes to make it dark, and put meditation music or frequency music on to drown out the noise and your surroundings. And here is another real life example for you. I have one friend who used to hide away in her cupboard from her toddlers, just so that she could get a little bit of peace and quiet for herself. There is always a plan that you can make. The point is there are many different ways in which you can create time and space for yourself. The number one idea here is to commit to time with yourself, whether that's five minutes, or half an hour or more, and to make it part of your daily routine. The second biggest idea is to set boundaries for yourself as well as for other people that may be in your life. And let them know that this is your designated time and your designated place, that you want to be undisturbed. Basically, you're making a date with yourself, every day at a specific time, in a specific place, for you.
Intention: Looking back into the recent past, what have your mirrors and your feedback system been telling you? For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
The intention here is to pay attention to your environment. What is your reality feedback system telling you? Have a look at your recent past, whether it's the last day, the last week or the last month, and reflect on your mirrors. Place your attention and focus on various different ways, whether positive or negative, that your environment, including your body, has been talking to you about whether you're on track or getting off track.
Intention: Reflecting back at your past, what recurring patterns do you notice in your life (positive or negative)? Do you notice any lessons that come up time and again? For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
Reflecting back at your past; what recurring patterns do you notice in your life whether positive or negative? Do you notice any lessons that came up time and again? The intention here is to reflect on anything that is a pattern in your life. Whether it is a negative pattern, like getting rejected in relationships. Or whether it is a positive pattern, like always landing up at the right place or the right time. And then pay attention to any lessons that are connected to the patterns and come up time and again. Or just allow yourself to become aware of lessons that you have learned that perhaps you have not been aware of up until this point.
Intention: Pay attention to your distractions. When does going down the rabbit hole have a positive outcome or a negative outcome for you? For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
The intention here is to pay attention to any distractions that come up in your life. When does going down the rabbit hole have a positive outcome. When does it serve you? Whether it's 50/50, or whether it's more positive or negative. Just pay attention to anything that comes up with regards to distractions and what you notice about them.
Intention: Make a list of all the people, animals, places, activities or things that feed your soul. For more details and tips, listen to the audio, or view the transcript below.
The intention here is to pay attention to everything that feeds your soul. Allow yourself to become aware and to notice which things make your soul sing.
